The most important step is to replace the CDI with the new Polini ECM “Engine Control Unit” with valves springs.\n\r\nIt is very important to change the CDI for the setup.\n\r\nIt has been studied and set thanks to the feedback coming from the racing department and its upgrade gives you the possibility to choose between 3 different maps for a deeper personalization by the end user.\n\r\nThe addition of the valves springs in the packaging lets the limiter reach 10.000 rpm with better results in terms of speed and a performance increase that grants smoother and more dynamic driving.\n\r\nDepending on the assembly steps of your scooter it is important to match the proper map developed by Polini.\n\r\nMap 1\n\r\nIt’s the easiest assembly step since it is enough to remove the original CDI and install the Polini ECM for Vespa and Liberty 50 4str Euro 5; it’s an electronic plug \u0026amp; play CDI ready to be installed.\nBy replacing it the RPM limiter goes from 7.500 to 8.100 rpm.\n\r\nWith this map, it is possible to keep the Piaggio original engine but it is recommended installing the Polini variator (241.737) and the Polini muffler (190.0079).\n\r\nThe Hi-Speed variator lets a small speed and acceleration increase.\n\r\nFor better engine efficiency Polini recommends the assembly of the Original Polini muffler: with a design similar to the original one it has a refined character but discreet at the same time. It is made of alloy and it features an incredible lightness.\n\r\nWith this map the speedometer goes from 45 km\/h to 50\/53 km\/h.\n\r\nMap 2\n\r\nWith the second map you get to the heart of the customization and you bring the vehicle to a higher level. It’s very important to rely on a professional since you have to work on the engine. First of all it is important to know that it is mandatory to change the original valves springs with the Polini ones (already included in the packaging of the ECU) that let you bring the engine limiter to 10.000 rpm without problems to the valves.\n\r\nThis map too works with the original engine but Polini recommends installing the Polini Variator (241.737), the Polini muffler (190.0079) and the bigger air filter sleeve (223.0131).\n\r\nWith this step the speedometer goes from 45 km\/h to 56\/60 km\/h.\n\r\nCAUTION – to change the springs you have to disassemble the engine. With a small contribute in terms of costs it is possible to install the cylinder and the upgrade gear ratio (using map 3) with a highly performing result.\n\r\nMap 3\n\r\nNow it’s missing very little to have a Vespa with a sprint soul, with a maximum speed of 70\/75 km\/h.
